Pop art is the foremost art movement to embrace mass media photo imagery. Popular culture photography, consumer product’s ads, and photos of media stars provided the subject matter and the resources for many photography artists who, no longer satisfied with abstract painting, or other art media were looking for a more humorous and ironic approach than the modernist assertion on heroic stances and other spiritual references.
